(4) General Situation Low pressure near northwest Scotland will drift away northwestwards as a filling feature. A second area of low pressure will move northwards over western areastoday, but will lose its identity with time. Towards the end of the period, a new area of low pressure will move into southwestern parts bringing unsettled weather to the southwest of the United Kingdom. Cape Wrath to Duncansby Head including the waters around Orkney South 4 or 5, backing southeast 5 or 6, then veering northwest 4 or 5 later. Slight or moderate. Showers, occasional rain. Moderate or good, occasionally poor. Outlook for the following 24 hours: West or northwest 4 or 5, becoming variable, mainly southwest 3 or 4. Slight or moderate, becoming smooth or slight. Showers. Good, occasionally moderate. Duncansby Head to Berwick upon Tweed South or southeast, veering west or southwest, 5 or 6. Slight or moderate. Rain or showers. Good, occasionally moderate. Outlook for the following 24 hours: West or southwest 4 or 5, occasionally 6 at first, becoming variable 3 or 4 later. Slight or moderate, becoming smooth or slight. Fair. Good.
